Today I’d like to show you how you could burn a massive amount of fat through your weight training program. First I’d like to say that any kind of exercising will burn fat as long as you create a calorie deficit through a combination of diet and exercise. You can burn fat just by weight training if you have a poor diet; however I know a lot of people that are under the impression that weight training can only be used to build muscle, but the truth is that there are ways for you to weight train in which you burn way more fat than doing tons and tons of cardio.
When doing cardio you get to burn calories for the duration of that cardio session. What that means is that if you do half an hour of cardio you’re going to burn calories for the half hour and maybe for half an hour afterwards for your body to fully returned to homeostasis. On the other hand with weight training, you’re going to be burning calories throughout the entire day. This is because after weight training your body will be using the food that you eat replenish glycogen stores in your muscles. It will also be using the amino acids from protein that you eat to rebuild the muscles that you broke down, and you’ll experience epoch which is excess post-exercise oxygen consumption or otherwise known as the after burn effect.
